Puppet Play (Ages 3 – 5)

Children will be introduced to acting by using and making simple puppet characters based on favorite nursery rhymes and stories. We will also play fun theater games and create a puppet show for parents!

Readers’ Theater (Ages 6 – 10)

Explore the basics of acting and develop reading skills through this weekly class. We will bring such works as Aesop’s Fables, and the poetry of Shel Silverstein to life with fluency and expression. We’ll also focus on diction, voice projection, and building confidence speaking in front of an audience.

Introduction to Acting (Ages 10 – 17)

This class will cover the basics of acting and the skills needed for auditioning and being part of a theater production. We will work on proper voice projection and diction. We will also play theater games to strengthen the creative process of character development, gestures, and body language. Students can work on their memorization skills by choosing a favorite poem or story to present to the group.

Giving a Great Audition (Ages 6 – 10) (Ages 11 – 17)

In a relaxed and supportive environment we will cover the basics of auditioning while providing guidance to the more experienced actor. This class will help the student present the best song or monologue for the part and offer relaxation techniques to manage stage fright.

Let’s Pretend! (Ages 3 – 5 )

Young children have a natural gift for dramatic play. In this class children can use their imaginations while playing “dress up” and bringing to life their favorite storybook characters. We’ll also have fun exploring basic acting techniques through theater games.

Storybook Theater (Ages 6 – 10)

Let’s explore the wonderful world of drama through popular children’s literature! We will use props, costumes, and theater games to aid in the creative process. This class will also teach the importance of facial expressions, gestures, and body language to convey a believable person.

Scene Study 101 (Ages 11 – 17)

Learn how to analyze a script and create a truthful performance. We will learn about subtext, the actor’s objective, and how to develop a character with inner life. Learning about this process will broaden an actor’s talent and ability.
