All group music classes are held at RRCAA , 49 Park St., Madison Village.

A 5% early bird discount is given for all art classes paid in full one week prior to start of class.

 

 

PRIVATE MUSIC INSTRUCTION
RRCAA provides a full range of private instruction, beginner through advanced levels, offered for both youth and adults.  Days and times vary with the individual instructor. 

Note:  Fees for music instruction are due monthly by the first class of each month.  Rates vary per instructor.

Group Music Instruction

“MADISON MATINEE” CHILDREN’S CHORUS  (Ages 8 - 12 or grades 2 - 6)
An energetic and educational choral experience for youth who like to sing.  Rehearsals focus on unison and two-part singing, basic breathing and vocal techniques.  A good precursor to voice lessons.  Some special clothing required.  No refunds or credits for missed classes.  New students accepted until Nov. 3 for fall; until Feb. 15 for spring.

“UNTITLED” YOUTH CHORALE  (Ages 13 - 18 or grades 7 - 12)
Youth Chorale is for teens wishing to grow and strengthen the vocal instrument and enjoy singing in an intimate group harmony setting.  This group focuses on three to four- part and a cappella singing and sight reading.  Prior experience is very helpful but not required.  Some special clothing required.  No refunds or credits for missed classes.  New students accepted until Nov. 3 for fall; until Feb. 15 for spring.

GROUP PIANO FOR BEGINNERS  (Ages 8 - 13)
An introductory class for new students with no musical experience.  Students learn to read and play music.  All materials will be supplied.  Students will play on fun electronic keyboards with many pre-programmed songs.  This class is a great precursor to private lessons.  A home keyboard for practicing is suggested.  Keyboard provided for class meetings.

GROUP RECORDER LESSONS  (Ages 8 - 11) Beginners with limited musical experience learn to play the recorder and read music notation.  Youth learn pre-band skills and have fun playing with a group.  Home practice required.  No refunds or credits for missed classes.

PRE-SCHOOL PAIRS
A 10-week arts exploration series for pre-schoolers and their caregiver that explores a shared theme through the disciplines of music and the visual arts.  The classes focus on artistic and musical development, fine and gross motor activities, social skills and helping to develop creatively confident children.

Tis’ the Seasons  (Ages 3 - 5 yrs.)
Come experience the magic of all four seasons and sing, dance and artfully play through rain storms, wind gusts and sunny days.  Preschoolers and their caregiver will tiptoe through the tulips, play with snow, and paint with rain in this 60-minute class.

Sept. 28 – Nov. 30 (10 weeks)

The Colorful Creatures of Eric Carle  (Ages 3 - 5 yrs.) 
A hungry caterpillar, a very quiet cricket, a grouchy ladybug and many more are all part of this wonderful vibrant world as only Eric Carle can create it.  Using his unique painting techniques and imaginative musical play, preschoolers will re-create his creatures and take them home to enjoy in this 60-minute class with caregiver.

KANGAROO CLASSES
Just like a baby kangaroo who bounds away and bounds right back again, toddlers are very much in the mindset of “hold me, let me go”.  Musical activities stimulate every area of the brain, the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and especially language.  This is achieved through song, movement, listening activities and instrument play, and a whole lot of fun.

Land and Sea  (Ages 18 mo. - 3 yrs.)
With skies of blue and seas of green, toddlers and their caregiver will travel the world in a yellow submarine, a blue car, or a red plane.  Maybe you will swim, run, fly or do all three.  However you get where you are going, you will have a great time singing and dancing and playing along the way.
Sept. 28 - Nov. 30 (10 weeks)

Creatures Great and Small  (Ages 18 mo. - 3 yrs.)
Creatures great and small, loud and quiet, short and tall, toddlers will meet, sing, and play with them all.  Are you ready?  Through song, dance, and imaginative play, toddlers and their caregiver will encounter animal friends of all kinds.  Whether furry or feathered, web-footed or winged, come play along, come and sing.
Jan. 25 - Mar. 29

All classes will be held in the Wesley Wing of Park United Methodist Church, 31 Park St., Madison (next to RRCAA building).

Rhythm and Music I  (Ages 4 - 8)
Children will increase cognitive skills and fine motor skills by using different styles of music with rhythm instruments to learn new songs.  By using hand drums, bells, egg shakers, etc. participants will learn about music, build new skills, and have fun.
Session I:  Sept. 13 - Dec. 6 (13 weeks)
Session II:  Jan. 24 - May 16 (13 weeks)
MONDAY  3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Rhythm and Music II  (Ages 9 - 13)
Students will increase cognitive skills and fine motor skills by tapping drums, shaking rhythm instruments, and listening and following directions as well as learn about all styles of music.

Session II:  Jan. 24 - May 16 (13 weeks)
MONDAY  4:15 - 5:15 p.m.

Fun with Music  (Ages 16 - adult)
This class encourages memory and motor skills.  Students use hand drums and rhythm instruments to learn new music and new styles of music as well as working toward learning how to play instruments and make music.
