Adult Ballet Fitness

Creative Movement (Ages 3-4)

Activities introduce the basic elements of dance including rhythm and time, movement qualities, space and use of body. Students will explore their own movement within an age appropriate creative structure, while gaining confidence and body awareness.
Dress Code:
Girls - leotard, footless tights or leggings
Boys - solid color T-shirt, shorts or sweatpants
footware - bare feet
Wednesdays 10:15 - 11am OR Saturdays 9:15 - 10am

Pre-Ballet (Ages 4-5)

Designed for the 4 yr. old student who is ready to move on from Creative Movement or for the 5 yr. old just taking his/her first class. Students will be introduced to classical ballet vocabulary and movement in an age-appropriate manner.
Dress Code:
Girls-solid color leotard and tights
Boys-solid color fitted T-shirt, male tights or leggings
Footwear: Ballet shoes only
Wednesdays 11:15 - 12:00pm OR Saturdays 11:15 - 12:00pm

Intro. to Tap I (Ages 6-8)

Class will introduce the basic elements of tap dance. Focus will include rhythm, technique, and vocabulary. Students will increase strength and body awareness.
Dress Code:
Girls-leotard and tights
Boys-leotard or solid color T-shirt, leggings or dance pants
Footwear: Tap shoes only
Thursdays 4:15 - 5:00pm

Ballet I (Ages 6-8)

Classes emphasize the development of classical ballet skills with a focus on proper placement and alignment. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center work while building strength and flexibility.
Dress Code:
Girls-solid color leotard and tights
Boys-solid color T-shirt and male tights or leggings
Footwear: Ballet shoes only
Thursdays 3:15 - 4:15pm

Intro. To Tap II (Ages 9-12)

Class will introduce the basic elements of tap dance. Focus will include rhythm, technique and vocabulary. Students will increase strength and body awareness.

Girls-leotard and tights
Boys-leotard or solid color T-shirt and leggings or dance pants
Footwear: Tap shoes only
Thursdays 6:15 - 7:00pm

Jazz I / Jazz II (Ages 9-13)

Classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and movement quality with an emphasis on proper execution of jazz isolations, rhythms and style performed to contemporary music.
Dress Code:
Girls-leotard and jazz pants/leggings, tights
Boys - leotard or solid color T-shirt and jazz pants/leggings
Footwear: Jazz (preferred) or ballet shoes
Thursdays 5:15 - 6:15pm

Adult Ballet Fitness

Concentrating on barre and floor exercises, training will focus on increasing strength and flexibility. A graceful way to get those legs and abs toned up in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Dress Code: Ballet shoes preferred but not required
Saturdays 10:00 - 11:00am

Fees are to be paid in sessions only. Non-payment of fees will result in no class participation and late fees (after 30 days) will be assessed. Call the office for payment arrangements, if necessary. There will be a formal dance recital in the spring for those students enrolled in classes (except the Adult Ballet Fitness) no later than January 12, 2008.
